Holden Morgan At Run For The Hills

Last weekend thousands of Morgan owners and enthusiasts travelled from around the globe to Run For The Hills, an extraordinary motoring festival organised and hosted by Morgan Motors.
This year, the team from Holden Morgan were in attendance and spent the weekend of the 26th and 27th August basking in the celebratory atmosphere and sunny weather.

As you know, Holden Vintage & Classic launched Holden Morgan back in May after enjoying a long relationship with Morgan Motors spanning four decades. Katie Turner, general manager of Holden Morgan, said “Run For The Hills gave us a fantastic opportunity to get to know some other Morgan dealers that we’ve not met before, as well as many Morgan enthusiasts from around the country. Everyone was so complimentary of Holden Morgan as well as Holden Vintage & Classic and expressed real interest in our recent move towards becoming a Morgan dealership.”
The work-in-progress Morgan Plus 4 restoration chassis displayed at the Holden Morgan stand was a big hit with spectators, many of whom were intrigued to discover the ambitious aim that the car will be ready for the Rally Africa in October 2018. A 4/4 currently available for sale was also parked up for viewing.

Thanks to the glorious weather and array of activities, the festival was buzzing with excitement on both the Saturday and Sunday. Particular highlights included the ‘Pickersleigh 3 Run’, which involved a proud parade of beautiful 3-wheelers, as well as some impressive craftsmanship demonstrations and the Bold Dog motorcycle display. On the Saturday evening an elegant gala dinner was held for guests, which included the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet adventurer Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who has under his belt a number of world records for his courageous expeditions.

Sunday saw some brilliant family entertainment including street style music, stilt walkers, a craft market and The Worcester Male Voice Choir. That evening, after a productive day talking to customers, the Holden Morgan team rested in a marquee and enjoyed a delightful spread of brie and rosé courtesy of two of our customers, while the festival concluded with a spectacular performance by the English Symphony Orchestra. This, as well as a stupendous fireworks display, marked the perfect end to an exhilarating weekend, and provided an opportunity for festival goers to sit back and relax as the sun set over a landscape of beautiful Morgan cars.

The World’s Fastest Car

Hot Air Balloon Ride

Enjoy a breathtaking view of Malvern and the surrounding areas by taking a thrilling hot air balloon ride. Rides are free, but are limited on a first come first serve basis and will be weather dependent.

Received Some Holden Gift Vouchers? Here’s Five Ways To Spend Them

If you’ve recently been given one of our Holden Vintage & Classic gift vouchers, or are thinking about buying some for a friend, we’ve got plenty of fantastic classic motoring equipment, accessories and clothing that you may be interested in. If, however, you’re feeling a bit indecisive, here’s five ideas on how you can spend your gift vouchers so that you get the best value for money.

1. Stock up on maintenance essentials

Maintaining your classic vehicle is critical to ensuring it runs for a good long while with minimal problems. Neglected cars are more likely to end up in the garage and will rack up large bills for the owner! To avoid the inconvenience and expense of a broken-down classic car, make sure you’re sticking to a maintenance routine. Cleaners have varying purposes – but all vehicles will need a decent bodywork shampoo and conditioner. You’ll also be wise to get an interior leather cleaner for your seats to keep them in tip-top shape. To cover all grounds, why not get the full Autoglym collection which also includes polish and wheel cleaner? Now, good maintenance requires more than keeping the car nice and shiny. You’ll also need good lubrication designed to keep your car’s working parts in optimal condition all year round. We’re pleased to stock some excellent automotive lubrication brands like Castrol and Millers Oils which provide high quality oils for your brakes, engines and chains.

2. Look dapper in brand new motoring clothing

It might be that you’re well stocked up on classic car maintenance essentials but need a motoring wardrobe makeover. If this is the case, look no further. Whether you’re headed off to a classic motor show or simply want to look the part as you drive through the countryside, we have a huge variety of classic motoring clothing across brands like Belstaff, BSA and Grenfell. Stuck for ideas? Check out our dedicated blog post for ideas.

3. Add some electrical accessories to your vehicle

It’s important to customise your car to your liking, and you can do this by adding some extra details here and there. Whether you’re looking to upgrade your aerial or install a 40 watt loudspeaker, we have all the parts you need. For those of you that enjoy a Corona cigar as you drive, we have cigar lighters that can be easily wired in too!

4. Treat yourself to a new tool kit

Can you really ever have enough tools? Every classic car owner needs to have at least a basic tool collection so that you can get to work on making minor repairs should you need to. If you think your spanners are looking a little tired, why not upgrade and get yourself a 14 piece spanner set? For more complex work, we have engine overhaul kits, carburettor adjusting tools and metal working tools. Once you’ve selected a range of new tools, you’ll need a fresh tool bag to put them all in. We offer a range of fabric and leather tool bags and tool rolls so that you can find the right one for you.

5. Give your motor a lick of paint

If your car would benefit from a slightly brighter body, why not treat it to a paint touch up? We stock POR-15 and KBS paint systems with rust prevention properties to ensure you keep pesky rust at bay for longer. If you regularly display your engine, you might want to consider using POR-15 engine paint to give it that extra special detail.

Of course, there’s plenty of other items you can choose from, so head over to our website now and choose how you’d like to spend your vouchers!

Order Your EZCarLift Now

If you’re keen to do some restoration or repair work on your classic motor from your home garage but are worried you’ll run into practical problems, we have the solution. It might be you have nowhere to store a conventional, bulky car lift, or find it a struggle to manoeuvre around a static car in close quarters. Exclusive to Holden customers, our new EZCarlift will give you the space and freedom to work on your motor from home.

Beautifully engineered in America, the EZCarlift is able to raise a vehicle 26 inches off the ground and can hold up to 4,400 lb in weight. It’s completely compact and easy to assemble, meaning that we can ship it to you via a regular courier.

So how does it work?

The main difference between the EZCarlift and a traditional car lift is that it doesn’t require a heavy hydraulic motor. In fact, all that’s needed to get this lift going is a high powered reversible drill with variable speeds. Once the lift arrives, you will slot the two separate pieces of steel underneath your car. The type of cross beams you use will depend entirely on the car you own. To check out the full list of cross beam compatibilities, click here.
You will be able to connect your drill to the end of the lift, switch it on and watch your car lift up with ease. Once it’s at the right height for your restoration purpose, you can get to work with full access to your vehicle.

The other fantastic feature the EZCarlift offers is its detachable wheels. Should you want to manoeuvre the car or push it to another area of your garage, you can use the four wheels supplied with the lift to do so. It’s up to you whether you fix the wheels into a ‘backwards and forwards’ or fully rotating position. For a demonstration on attaching the wheels to the lift, watch Julian Parker show you how it’s done in the video.

When you’ve finished the work, you’ll be able to power down the EZCarlift with your drill and store the lift on its own wall plates, out of the way until you next need them.

Take the hassle out of your home based car repairs and restorations by ordering your EZCarlift today and receive your order within 7-10 working days.
